I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Grant Allwork of GA Glazing and Building Services for any building or decorating work. He and his team have transformed my house, implementing planning permission to radically restructure the house – knocking down the old extension and rebuilding it to a larger and new specification in order to maximize downstairs living space and relocate the downstairs bathroom to upstairs. As well as a new bathroom and kitchen, the project involved moving the staircase and changing the floor plan of most of the house. They completely re-wired (with new fuse-box), re-plumbed (with new boiler) and re-plastered the whole house (with new coving and skirting). They also replaced all the windows and doors (including modifying the brick work round the front door), moved the loft hatch and boarded the loft, giving me a huge amount of extra storage, and they transformed the garden, chopping trees down, clearing debris and installing brand new decking and fences. They also made good and decorated the exterior and repaired my television aerial. Grant also created a roof garden for me by changing an upstairs window into a door onto the flat roof of the new extension. It was a lengthy project, and step by step Grant negotiated with building regulation people, the architect, the water board, the electric company, and the neighbours. He also showed flexibility in helping me design the details of the specification as we went along, offering advice about the possibilities I could choose from. He has a fine eye for detail, so the finish of the work is excellent. It’s a period house, but it’s effectively been made to look completely new. I’m really pleased!

In May 2006, a fire completely gutted our kitchen and caused smoke damage throughout the whole house making it unfit to live in. GA Glazing and Building Services came out immediately to assess the damage and provided an excellent quotation to replace the kitchen, kitchen window and to restore the décor in the rest of the house. I was lucky enough to come across G.A. Glazing & Building Services at the very start of a very important project and, with the future of my business at stake it was a must to appoint the right company. We were looking to completely rebuild a very old, vandalised building under the eye of the local council, as the site was a very sensitive one.

Although most of the refurbishment was undertaken by G.A., some of the more the delicate work i.e. cat 5 points for PCs and phones and Asbestos removal was performed by outside specialists. When they fell behind they were soon kept on their toes by G.A.

We asked Grant for a quote for a new double-glazed door and he gave a competitive quote which we accepted. There was a problem with pipework across the threshold of the new door which Grant identified (no other company found this). Grant arrived 30 minutes before the arranged time to start work and worked very hard throughout the day leaving no mess and polished the glass before leaving. I would recommend Grant to anyone as a hard working and fully trustworthy person and will be asking him to quote for further work in the New Year. I also recommended Grant to my Mother-in-law who was also very pleased with the standard of work given.
